The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was enacted in the United States in 2010. Section 1502 of the Act requires companies that use conflict minerals originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and adjoining countries (collectively, the "DRC Countries") in their products to report related information to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Conflict minerals refer to four minerals, namely gold, tantalum, tin, and tungsten, which have been identified as sources of funding for armed groups operating in the DRC Countries. The purpose of this legislation is to help cut off financial support to armed groups responsible for serious human rights abuses and violence in this conflict-affected region.
OH Channel Innovations Ltd. has no intention of contributing, directly or indirectly, to human rights abuses in the DRC Countries. To uphold responsible procurement practices, we will continue to work with OKI Electric Industry Co., Ltd., OKI Group companies, suppliers, and JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association) to enhance supply chain transparency and promote the procurement of minerals that do not finance or benefit armed groups involved in human rights violations.
